Pune: Abhijit Kunte awarded with 15th FIDE Trainer Awards 2023

Pune, 29 January 2029: The FIDE Trainers Commission recently announced the 15th FIDE Trainer Awards 2023, recognizing the outstanding contributions and accomplishments of the global chess training community.

Among the distinguished awardees, Grandmaster Abhijit Kunte Chief Manager ES and Sports, Marketing HO has been honored with the prestigious Vakhtang Karseladze Award for the best achievement by a trainer in women’s and/or girl’s competitions. As the non-playing captain and coach, Kunte played a pivotal role in leading the Indian Women’s Team to notable successes, securing a silver medal in both the World Women’s Team Championship (2021) and the Asian Games (2022), along with a bronze at the 44th Chess Olympiad.

Abhijit Kunte, India’s fourth Grandmaster, has displayed exceptional coaching prowess, guiding and inspiring the women’s team to achieve remarkable milestones on the international chess stage. His strategic guidance and mentorship have undoubtedly played a significant role in the team’s achievements.
