Pune Accident News: 28-Year-Old Dies After Dumper Runs Over Scooter Near Viman Nagar
Viman Nagar, 11th November 2025: A 28-year-old man, identified as Sachin Vasant Dhumal, was killed in a horrific road accident near the Tata Guardroom bus stop on the Viman Nagar–Kharadi Bypass around midnight on Sunday.
Sachin, a resident of the Malharnagar area in Wadgaonsheri, was riding an Activa scooter along with his friend, Swapnil Bhanudas Mane (25), when the accident occurred, according to the Airport Police. The duo was heading from Viman Nagar towards Kharadi.
Police said a dumper approaching from behind honked loudly, startling Sachin, who lost control of the scooter. Both riders fell—Sachin to the left side of the road and Swapnil to the right. The dumper ran over Sachin, leaving him critically injured, while Swapnil sustained injuries to his arm and waist.
Local residents immediately called for an ambulance, and Sachin was rushed to Sassoon Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The Airport Police have registered a case against the dumper driver for rash and negligent driving causing death. Further investigation is underway.
