Pune: Action Against ‘The Steam Room’ Café for Encouraging Obscene Behavior Among Students
Shirur, 9th March 2025: The rising concern over the direction of today’s youth has once again come to light as the police take strict action against ‘The Steam Room’ café in Shirur for allegedly allowing obscene behavior.
A case has been registered against the café operator following complaints about school and college students engaging in inappropriate activities at the establishment. Authorities have warned that if such issues are not addressed firmly, they could have serious consequences for the future of the younger generation.
Undercover Operation Exposes Shocking Reality
According to police sources, complaints had been received about students in Shirur city engaging in indecent behavior. Acting on this information, the police discovered that ‘The Steam Room’ café had created illegal partitions to facilitate such acts. Taking swift action, Police Inspector Sandesh Kenjale ordered an investigation.
A team of officers, including Police Personnel Nathsaheb Jagtap, Constable Bhagyashree Jadhav, Constable Nitesh Thorat, and Ravindra Awhad, conducted an undercover operation at the café. Upon inspection, they found that several boys and girls were engaging in inappropriate behavior in a separate room. Disturbingly, many of them were school students.
Legal Action Against Café Operator
Following the raid, a case was registered against the café operator, Akash Ramesh Labhde (23, resident of Arangaon, Tal. Shrigonda, Dist. Ahilyanagar) under Section 296 of the Indian Penal Code. The complaint was filed by Police Constable Ravindra Awhad, and further investigation is being carried out by Constable Devidas Khedkar. Notably, similar offences have been registered against Labhde in the past.
A Serious Warning for Society
This incident raises an alarming question: what direction is the younger generation heading in due to the unchecked influence of such establishments? As students are the foundation of the future, society must take collective responsibility to prevent them from straying onto the wrong path. Parents, schools, colleges, and local authorities must remain vigilant and proactive in addressing such concerns.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, Additional Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chopde, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Prashant Dhole, and Police Inspector Sandesh Kenjale.
