Pune: Actual Land Survey for Purandar Airport to Begin from Friday; 95% Farmers Submit Consent Letters
Purandar, 25th September 2025: The district administration will commence the actual land survey for the proposed international airport at Purandar from Friday, September 26, following the deadline for submitting consent letters for land acquisition, which ends today. So far, 95 percent of the farmers in the affected villages have submitted their consent letters, signaling widespread cooperation for the project.
Land for the airport will be acquired from seven villages in Purandar taluka: Pargaon, Kumbharvalan, Ekhatpur, Munjawadi, Khanwadi, Udachiwadi, and Vanpuri. Initially, the government had proposed acquiring seven and a half thousand acres, but following opposition from locals, this was reduced to around 3,000 acres last month. Farmers were first given a deadline of September 18 to submit consent letters; by then, approximately 2,800 farmers agreed to provide about 2,700 acres of land. The deadline was subsequently extended to September 25.
“After the calculation process is completed, a proposal will be sent to the government regarding compensation for the farmers. Once the price is determined, the formal land acquisition process will begin,” said Jitendra Dudi, District Collector.
In addition to the acquired land, about 200 acres of government-owned land in the seven villages will be available, bringing the total land for the airport to roughly 2,900 acres.
As part of the compensation package, ten percent of the total land will be allocated to farmers who submit their consent first, on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis, within the proposed Aerocity. Around 700 acres have been reserved for this purpose. The district administration has assured that these farmers will receive ten percent of the total land along with compensation at four times the prevailing market rate.
“The actual land survey will begin from Friday after the consent letter deadline expires. The process is expected to be completed by October 20,” Dudi added.
