Pune: Advocate Pralhad Kokare Elected Chairman and CA Yashwant Kasar Vice-Chairman of Cosmos Cooperative Bank
Pune, 9th January 2025: On Thursday, Advocate Pralhad Kokare was elected Chairman, and CA Yashwant Kasar was elected Vice-Chairman of Cosmos Cooperative Bank Ltd., during a board meeting attended by Assistant Returning Officer Sanjay Raut. Both were elected unanimously. The recent uncontested elections for the board of directors for the 2025-2029 term saw the election of these new leaders.
Chairman Kokare has served on the Cosmos Bank board for the past two decades. A skilled administrator, he retired as the joint registrar of Co-operative Societies with the Maharashtra State Government. He previously served as the bank’s Vice Chairman for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 terms. Kokare has been leading the bank as Chairman since November 2024 and has played an active role in various committees over the years.
Vice Chairman Kasar, a chartered accountant, holds multiple qualifications, including being a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, Certified Information Systems Auditor (DISA), Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Fellow of the Association of International Accountants, London. He has served as the Regional Council Member of the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the 2019-2025 term. Kasar, an expert in tax laws and finance, has been a Cosmos Bank director since 2019 and is also the secretary of Chartered Accountants in Co-operative Banks (CA-COB).
