Pune: After Dhangekar’s Allegations, BJP MP Mohol Visits Jain Boarding for Peace Talks
Model Colony, 25th October 2025: Amid the ongoing controversy over the Jain Boarding land transaction, Pune Member of Parliament and Union Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol visited the Seth Hirachand Nemchand Jain Digambar Boarding in Model Colony, Shivajinagar, on Saturday. Mohol interacted with Jain monk Shri Guptinandiji Maharaj and members of the Jain community in an attempt to defuse rising tensions.
During the visit, Mohol emphasized the importance of dialogue and respect. “We must always honour sages and saints. I have not come here to justify myself but to listen to the monks. Over the past few days, several discussions have taken place, but I have made it clear that I have no involvement in this matter. Unfortunately, some people are trying to exploit the Jain community’s issue for political gain, which is wrong,” he said.
Reassuring the community, Mohol added, “As a representative of the people, I am fully committed to ensuring justice for the Jain community. This issue will be resolved in a manner that meets the expectations of the community. No one will face injustice. You need not continue your fast; the matter will be resolved positively before November.”
Appealing for calm, Mohol urged members of the community to “set aside misunderstandings and work together,” adding that with their blessings, he would strive for a fair and lasting resolution. His visit appeared to bring a sense of relief to several community members.
Earlier, former MLA Ravindra Dhangekar had accused Mohol of being involved in the controversial transaction, but Mohol dismissed the allegations as “baseless and politically motivated.”
Jain monk Shri Guptinandiji Maharaj had earlier expressed deep dissatisfaction with the handling of the issue and warned that if the transaction was not canceled by November, a nationwide protest would be launched. His warning had heightened tensions within the community.
