Pune: After Drop in Case Fatality Ratio, Survey of Senior Citizens, Comorbid Patients Begins
Pune, August 26, 2020: Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao said that the district administration is now focussing on surveying co-morbid patients and senior citizens across the city to reduce the Case Fatality Ratio (CFR) even further.
From the surveys, it has been found that approximately 20,000 people with comorbidities were tested and out of that, 922 positive patients emerged after testing. The CFR has been reduced because the positive patients received treatment on time, Rao added further.
With the jumbo COVID-19 facility at the COEP, ready to function, the city is no longer worried about the shortage of beds. There are adequate beds for patients right now and currently, nobody is under waiting. Another jumbo COVID-19 facility is being set up in Pimpri-Chinchwad. It will have 200 ICU beds and 600 oxygen beds.
The total number of people affected by COVID-19 in Pune division has crossed the two lakh mark out of which 1, 45,719 patients have recovered.
The number of active cases stands at 49,848. The recovery rate is 72.50 per cent while the mortality rate is 2.75 per cent.
