Pune: After Night Raid on FC Road, PMC Seizes 77 Items from Unauthorised Vendors
Shivajinagar, 25th July 2025: In a late-night operation, the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Encroachment Department launched a crackdown on unauthorised street vendors who had illegally occupied footpaths along Ferguson College Road, BMCC Road, Arya Bhushan Pumping Station, Khandoji Baba Chowk, and Junglee Maharaj Road.
Acting on public complaints regarding illegal street vending and use of gas cylinders, the operation was carried out under the guidance of Sandeep Khalate, Deputy Commissioner of the Encroachment Department, in coordination with Senior Police Inspector Nimbalkar of the Deccan Police Station, and under the supervision of PMC Assistant Commissioner Timmaya Jagle.
A team led by Ward Encroachment Inspector Sanjay Kumbhar and Assistant Inspectors Ravi Jadhav, Sharad Pawar, and Bharat Biradar conducted the raid, supported by six personnel from the Maharashtra Security Force, ten laborers, one truck, and a transport cage.

The action aimed to clear public footpaths obstructed by illegal vendors selling clothes, cutlery, toys, hosiery, and other items, posing safety and accessibility issues for pedestrians.
