Pune: Against ‘Mulshi Pattern’ Tag, Mulshi Residents Plan Gram Panchayat Resolutions, Legal Fight

Mulshi, 13th August 2026: The ‘Mulshi Bachao Samanvay Samiti’ has decided to launch a broad public movement against the use of the term ‘Mulshi Pattern’, which it claims harms the identity and reputation of Mulshi taluka.

A meeting organised by the committee was held at the Senapati Bapat Hall at the Panchayat Samiti in Paud and saw participation from political leaders across parties, current and former elected representatives, panchayat samiti office-bearers, representatives of the Warkari community, ex-servicemen, farmers’ organisations, ‘Aamhi Mulshikar Pratishthan’, police patils, women, youths and other residents.

Participants called for setting aside political differences and coming together to protect Mulshi’s identity and reputation. Speakers at the meeting stressed the need for a united campaign against the use of the ‘Mulshi Pattern’ reference.

The committee decided to seek resolutions on the issue during the monthly meetings and gram sabhas of all gram panchayats in Mulshi taluka. It will also seek resolutions from various social, religious, educational, business, farmers’, workers’, youth, women’s and other organisations.

The committee said these resolutions would be used to formally convey the stand of Mulshi residents to the government, administration and concerned authorities.

The committee also decided to launch a broad public movement involving residents, women and youths from across the taluka. It said the agitation would be peaceful, democratic and within the legal framework. A legal battle will also be pursued on the issue, with the committee planning to study the relevant legal provisions before deciding on further action.

The committee will submit representations to concerned individuals, local elected representatives and government officials, outlining the position of Mulshi residents. It will also pursue the matter at various government and administrative levels.

The committee said its campaign would proceed through resolutions by gram panchayats and various organisations, public mobilisation and legal and administrative follow-up.

The committee appealed to residents of Mulshi to unite to stop what it described as the “defamation” of the taluka and to highlight its historical, cultural, social and spiritual identity before Maharashtra and the country.
