Pune, 15th January 2025: Today, a historic moment unfolded at the Army Day Parade in Khadki, as the Agniveer Women Marching Contingent took center stage, marking another significant achievement in the ongoing journey of women in the Indian Army. This momentous display of empowerment and excellence is a proud continuation of their trailblazing participation in the All-Women Tri-Services Marching Contingent at the Republic Day Parade 2024.

The inclusion of women in the Corps of Military Police (CMP) in 2019 marked a milestone in the Indian Army’s commitment to gender inclusivity. Women Military Police personnel have since proven themselves not only in their military duties but also in national and international sports competitions, garnering immense pride and honour for the Armed Forces.

Aligned with the theme of “Naari Shakti” (Women’s Power), the Agniveer Women Marching Contingent embodied the strength, discipline, and unwavering dedication of Women Military Police. Led by Captain Sandhya Rao H, the contingent demonstrated the leadership and commitment of women in the Indian Army, further solidifying their place in the forces and in history.

As the Indian Army continues to embrace diversity, this remarkable milestone serves as a beacon of progress, reminding the nation that empowerment, discipline, and courage know no gender. The Agniveer Women Marching Contingent’s presence at the Army Day Parade 2025 is a powerful symbol of what lies ahead for women in India’s defence forces.
