Pune: Ahmednagar Police and Military Intelligence Collaborate to Uncover Counterfeit Army Uniform Ring

Ahmednagar/Pune, 3rd February 2024: In a significant joint operation conducted by Bhingar Camp Police Station and South Command Military Intelligence, Pune, an accused from Nashik, identified as Suresh Pritamdas Khatri, has been apprehended for manufacturing and selling counterfeit combat uniforms of the Indian Army.

 

On 02/02/24, the Southern Command Military Intelligence, Pune, acting on a tip from an informant, learned that Suresh Khatri was peddling unlicensed, new-type fake combat uniforms at CSD Canteen, Jamkhed Road, Ahmednagar. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Rakesh Ola Saheb, Superintendent of Police, Ahmednagar, was immediately informed.

 

Given the sensitivity of Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, and Pune districts, particularly in relation to the army, the authorities swiftly moved to the reported location. The suspect was promptly apprehended, and a thorough search of his Innova car yielded 40 counterfeit army uniforms.

 

Suresh Pritamdas Khatri, aged 49, residing at Ganga Niwas, Anand Road, Deolali Camp, District Nashik, was unable to produce a license for selling army uniforms. Consequently, a case has been registered at Bhingar Camp Police Station under IPC section 171, and an ongoing investigation is being led by Bhingar Camp Police Station.

 

Superintendent of Police, Ahmednagar, Rakesh Ola, emphasized the potential exposure of gangs involved in the illicit sale of counterfeit army uniforms in New Delhi and Rajasthan. He urged the public to contact Bhingar Camp Police Station if they encounter any instances of fraudulent sales involving such uniforms or materials.
