Pune Airport Cab Driver Demands Extra Rs 125 After Rs 297 Fare; Aeromall Says Action Taken on Complaints
Viman Nagar, 19th October 2026: Complaints of cab drivers allegedly demanding additional money from passengers at Pune International Airport continue to surface, with a recent passenger alleging that a driver sought an extra ₹125 in the name of parking charges after receiving the app-displayed fare of ₹297.
The incident has raised questions about the monitoring of cab services at Aeromall, the airport’s integrated ground transport facility, as passengers have reported being asked to pay more than the fare displayed on their booking apps.
Passenger Alleges Extra Charge After Paying ₹297
According to a complaint shared by a passenger on social media, a cab ride from Pune Airport to a hotel in Bund Garden had an app-displayed fare of ₹297. After the passenger paid the amount in cash, the driver allegedly demanded an additional ₹125, citing parking charges.
The allegation has renewed concerns about whether passengers are being charged transparently for airport pickups and whether adequate measures are in place to prevent disputes over additional payments.
Pune Airport handles more than 30,000 passenger movements daily, according to the information provided in the complaint. Many passengers, particularly those arriving late at night, depend on cab services for onward travel. Allegations of additional charges beyond the agreed fare have therefore become a concern for travellers.
Aeromall Says Complaints Are Being Addressed
Similar complaints about cab drivers allegedly demanding additional fares have surfaced in the past. Although cab companies have reportedly assured passengers of action, some travellers continue to raise concerns about such incidents.
Passengers have also questioned where they should seek redress if complaints do not lead to lasting improvements.
YS Rajput, vice-president of Aeromall, said complaints about drivers demanding extra money had increased over the past six months. He said the concerned cab company was informed whenever a complaint was received and action was taken against the driver.
“In cases involving serious complaints, the concerned driver is barred from entering Aeromall. We have received three to four complaints so far and have taken action on them,” Rajput said.
Meanwhile, there are calls for Pune MP and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol to intervene and ensure effective measures to prevent passengers from being charged additional amounts.
The latest allegation has once again brought the issue of fare transparency and passenger grievance redressal at Pune Airport into focus.
