Pune Airport: CISF Gets Health Kits from State Bank of India

Pune, August 29, 2020: Recognizing the need for health kits for the protection from the Coronavirus disease (COVID19), State Bank of India (SBI), Pune Metro Administrative Office yesterday donated 300 sanitizer bottles, 300 face shields and YONO jute bags to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Pune Airport. 

P Seshu Babu, Deputy General Manager (B&O), Pune Metro Administrative Office, handed over these kits to Santosh Suman, Dy Commandant and G G Bhargav, Asstt. Commandant, CISF, Pune Airport Unit.

Speaking on the occasion, DGM (B&O) Babu said, “Under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, State Bank of India is consistently undertaking various programs like social, educational, health-related equipment, agricultural development, water conservation, tree plantation, rural economic development, etc. As a sense of duty and responsibility towards the community, Bank is giving priority to relief work as well as providing uninterrupted financial services to all, in this difficult time of the Corona Pandemic.”

All the employees of the bank have collectively contributed Rs 200 crore to the Prime Minister Care Fund. The bank has distributed food grains and groceries to the labourers in Pune city and rural areas of Pune during the current COVID-19 Epidemic crisis. With the help of ISKCON’s Annamruta, ready-made food was distributed to approximately 2500 needy people per day for 25 consecutive days in the slums of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Also, the bank has distributed 1204 PPE kits to Pune Municipal Corporation, 400 N95 masks to Poona Hospital, 300 masks, 300 face shields, 300 sanitizer bottles to Pune City Police. 

He further said, “Our branches are also serving selflessly to customers with safety and appropriate care with regard to COVID-19. Three ventilators distributed to three well-known Govt. Hospitals in Pune for speedy treatment of COVID patients. Also, Pulse Oxy- Meters and Thermal Scanners were distributed to various Govt. Offices in Pune City. On the occasion of State Bank Day on 1st July, more than 5000 trees were planted at various places in Pune City.”

Manish Chandra, Regional Manager – RBO II, S A Shende, Branch Head, AFS Lohegaon Branch, were also present for the function. The function ended successfully with the collective efforts of Shri. Jayant Sinha, Manager Liaison, Shashikala Patil, RMDB and Krishna Kulkarni, Manager – OL.
