Viman Nagar, 11th August 2025: Pune Airport is gearing up for its busiest winter season yet, with 15 newly approved flight slots set to be operational from the last week of October. This will raise the total number of operational slots to around 235, up from the existing 220—marking the highest allocation in the airport’s history.

“This is the first time in the history of Pune Airport that we have secured such a large number of slots, and it will significantly expand connectivity,” said Santosh Dhoke, Director, Pune Airport.

The expansion will boost connectivity by adding new destinations and increasing frequency on existing routes. Airlines operating at Pune Airport have already started submitting slot proposals, including for the newly allotted timings. The proposals are expected to reach the airport administration by the end of August, after which they will be forwarded to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for final approval.

More Destinations in the Pipeline
Currently, Pune has direct flights to 34 cities. Preliminary indications suggest that at least five to seven new cities will be added to the list this winter, along with enhanced services on popular existing routes.

Of the 220 approved slots at present, 212 are actively used, while the rest remain reserved by airlines. The new 15 slots will be available for operations between 6:00 a.m. and 10:29 p.m. Once DGCA clearance is granted, they will be integrated into the winter schedule.
