Pune Airport’s New Terminal Begins Handling All International Flights
Viman Nagar, 24th December 2024: Starting today, all international flights from Pune Airport will operate from the newly constructed terminal building. Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Pune MP, Murlidhar Mohol, announced the move, calling it a significant step forward for the city’s aviation infrastructure.
“With international flights and immigration services shifting to the new terminal, passengers will experience greater convenience and improved facilities. All technical clearances have been completed, and I reviewed the arrangements with airport authorities on Monday,” said Mohol.
Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke confirmed the transition, stating, “International flights will now operate from the new terminal building, while domestic flights will continue to function from the old terminal for the time being. Moving domestic operations will happen in phases to ensure smooth functioning and avoid any disruptions.”
Currently, the Pune Airport manages around 23 flights, including five direct international services connecting to destinations like Dubai, Bangkok, and Singapore. IndiGo operates flights to Bangkok and Dubai, SpiceJet offers one Dubai service, Air India Express operates a flight to Bangkok, and Air India runs a direct flight to Singapore.
The new terminal building is equipped with upgraded facilities to streamline passenger movement. It features 10 immigration counters in the departure area and eight in the arrival section, ensuring faster processing for international travelers.
The phased shift of domestic flights to the new terminal will follow in the coming months as part of efforts to maintain operational order and efficiency.
