Ajit Pawar Pays Tribute to Historic Vijay Stambh on 208th Shaurya Diwas

Koregaon Bhima, 1st January 2026: Marking the 208th Shaurya Diwas, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Pune district guardian minister Ajit Pawar paid floral tribute to the historic Vijay Stambh at Perne Phata on Thursday morning.

Senior officials present on the occasion included Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI) Director General Sunil Ware, District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Gajanan Patil, along with other senior administrative officers.

Speaking at the event, Pawar said that, as every year, the state government had organised the tribute ceremony on behalf of the people of Maharashtra. He added that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had directed officials to ensure the availability of necessary funds for organising the Vijay Stambh tribute ceremony.

The Deputy Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the planning and arrangements made by the district administration. He also noted that adequate precautions had been taken by the state government in view of the large number of followers and visitors arriving to pay homage at the Vijay Stambh.

The Vijay Stambh at Perne Phata on Pune-Nagar Road holds historical significance and attracts thousands of visitors annually on Shaurya Diwas, making crowd management and security a key focus for the administration.
