Pune among the top 6 cities leading the demand for competitive exam coaching

India, December 2nd, 2019: A study undertaken by Sulekha, India’s leading tech-AI platform for expert services has unveiled interesting insights about demands for competitive exam coaching from Indian cities.

This study is based on visits and searches by nearly 28,000 consumers across Indian cities that landed on Sulekha in the last one year.

Key findings of the study:

· In the last one year, 132,192 requests have been generated by Tier I cities and they contribute to 35% of the online searches. Tier II 68,486 online requests and it’s interesting to note that Tier III cities have generated 160,860 online requests; which is more than Tier I cities.

· Across all Indian cities, it has been observed that online searches increases in the month of January and peaks during June – July. The increase that is seen in the month of January may be attributed to the beginning of a New Year & the beginning of new batches at coaching centers.

· The online requests dips in February and decreases substantially between April – May.

· Delhi (30222), Chennai (15147) and Hyderabad (11671) are the top 3 Indian cities that are leading the requests for competitive exam coaching followed by Mumbai (11481), Bangalore (10145) and Pune (6547).

· UGC Net (47898), UPSC (44174) and SPSC (32911) are the top 3 most searched exam coaching categories followed by SSC (28970), SPSC (28960) and Railways (27185).

· In Delhi, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: UGC Net (6274), Defense/ Police (5470) and SSC (5136).

· In Chennai, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: SPSC (3981), Railways (2331) and Teaching (2145).

· In Hyderabad, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: Defense/ Police (2863), UGC Net (2038) and SSC (1866).

· In Mumbai, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: UPSC (3554), Defense/ Police (1864), UGC Net (1219).

· In Bangalore, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: Defense/ Police (2273), UGC Net (1734) and UPSC (1593).

· In Pune, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: Defense/ Police (2022), UPSC (1085), UGC Net (850).

· In Ahmedabad, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: UPSC (904), SPSC (836) and UGC Net (557).

· In Kolkata, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: UGC Net (1365), Defense/ Police (1024), SPSC (977).

· In Faridabad, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: Defense/ Police (437), SSC (415), Teaching (375).

· In Ghaziabad, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: Defense/ Police (755), Teaching (544), SSC (518).

· In Greater Noida, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: Defense/ Police (240), SSC (213), Teaching (173).

· In Gurgaon, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: Defense/ Police (875), SSC (656), Teaching (611).

· In Noida, the top 3 leading exam coaching categories are: Defense/ Police (796), Teaching (621), UGC Net (556).
