Pune: Anticipating Third Wave, PMC Plans 200 Beds COVID Centre For Children

Pune, 7th May 2021: As the scientific community has predicted a third wave of the Coronavirus disease (COVID19) pandemic, preparations have started to deal with it across the country.

Now Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has set up 200 beds for children at the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in Yerwada. “We are preparing for the 3rd wave. Out of 200 beds, there will be 100 oxygen beds, 30 maternity, 20 dialysis, 12 NICU, 20 PICU, 10 ICU Ventilators, 8 step-down and triage”, informed Rubal Agarwal, Additional Commissioner, PMC.

She further said that “We have received Rs one crore from MLA fund (Sunil Tingre), Rs two crores from mayor fund and remaining corporate social responsibility (CSR) for the dedicated paediatric unit (COVID19) at the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital.”
