Pune: Armed Masked Men Create Panic at Sidra Garden Society in Dhanori; Residents Demand Police Action
Dhanori, 12th April 2025: Residents of Sidra Garden Co-Operative Housing Society, located in Lane No. 13D, Vidhya Nagar, Dhanori, were left shaken after three armed and masked men reportedly trespassed into the society premises during the early hours of April 8.
The intruders, dressed in black and carrying sickle-shaped knives (locally referred to as koyta), were caught on CCTV moving suspiciously within the building.
In a formal complaint submitted to the Vishrantwadi Police Station and also addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Pune, Advocate Jatin Adhav, a Bombay High Court Advocate and Chairman of the housing society, described the incident as “life-threatening and deeply disturbing.”
“Around 4:30 to 5:00 a.m., three unidentified armed individuals unlawfully entered our building. They attempted to break into one of the flats, which created panic among the residents. Their faces were covered, and they had no lawful reason to be on the premises,” stated Adv. Adhav in the complaint.
He has demanded immediate registration of an FIR, review of CCTV footage, and strict legal action against the culprits. As evidence, the society has also submitted video clips and photographs showing the movement of the armed intruders.
Calling the incident a grave threat to the safety and security of residents, Adv. Adhav has requested police authorities to increase night and early morning patrolling in and around the society and its by-lanes.
“This is not just about our society; it’s about the safety of the entire neighborhood. We need visible and regular police presence to prevent such frightening episodes from recurring,” he added.
As of now, the police are yet to confirm the registration of an FIR. Residents are urging law enforcement agencies to treat the matter with utmost urgency.
