Pune: Army Officer Emerges Winner In Durshet Forest 50 km Ultramarathon
Chandigarh, 21st August 2022: Lt Col Swaroop Singh Kuntal won the 50 km Durshet Forest Ultramarathon. Kuntal completed the 50 km Ultramarathon in 5 hours and 39 mins and was declared a winner.
On March 13 and 14, 2021, Lt Col Kuntal took part in the 24-hour Tuffman Stadium Run in Chandigarh. Lt Col Kuntal demonstrated his mental fortitude, physical fitness, and maximum human endurance by jogging nonstop for 24 hours and covering 191.3 km.
Lt Col Kuntal is presently posted at the Military Institute of Technology, Pune. He has earlier won a number of triathlons and ultra-marathons as well as several stadium runs and triathlons. He was the fastest Indian in Ironman Malaysia 2019 comprising of 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km running in 12 hours 14 mins. He has been the winner of Ultraman India comprising 10 km swimming, 420 km cycling and 84.4 km running too.
