Pune: Attempt to Grab Senior Citizen’s Bungalow in Gultekdi; FIR Registered
Swargate, 31st October 2025: A shocking incident has been reported from Pune’s Gultekdi area, where a group allegedly tried to illegally seize the bungalow of an 80-year-old senior citizen. The Swargate Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and begun an investigation.
According to police, the complainant, Subhashchandra Gopalrao Arole (80), a resident of T.M.V. Colony, Gultekdi, visited the Swargate Police Station on Thursday afternoon along with his son and daughter to record a statement. During this time, the accused — Devesh Jain, a resident of Market Yard; contractor Sanjay Lakshan Kenjale from the Dandekar Bridge area; and an associate identified as Jayesh Phulpagar — allegedly conspired to take unlawful possession of Arole’s property.
The accused, along with a JCB driver whose identity is yet to be confirmed, reportedly broke the compound wall and iron gate of the bungalow and tried to take control of the premises without any prior notice. The act caused property damage, following which Arole lodged a formal complaint at the Swargate Police Station.
Based on his complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the accused.
The case is being investigated by Police Sub-Inspector Smita Patil under the supervision of Crime Police Inspector Vikas Bharamal of Swargate Police Station.
Police said further inquiries are underway to identify the JCB driver and determine the motive behind the attempted property grab.
