Pune: Ban On Goods Vehicles On University Road

Pune, 14th February 2023: Police have taken various measures to break the traffic jam on University (Ganeshkhind) road. Heavy goods vehicles except for essential service vehicles are prohibited to keep the traffic smooth in this area.

Essential service vehicles like ambulances, police vehicles, municipal vehicles, passenger transport vehicles, and metro work vehicles have been allowed through Ganeshkhind road. Heavy goods vehicles are prohibited from plying on this road. Vijayakumar Magar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), has informed that goods vehicles will not be able to use this road during the day as well as at night.

Heavy vehicles, cargo vehicles, and vegetable transport vehicles going to Mumbai from Pune city, Solapur Road, and Hadapsar should use an alternative route. Cargo vehicles going to Mumbai should go to Mumbai via Hadapsar, Saswad road, Mantarwadi Phata, Katraj-Kondhwa road, and Katraj.

Vehicles going towards Mumbai via Ahmednagar Road should take Ahmednagar Road, Kharadi Bypass Chowk, Shastrinagar Chowk, Dr Ambedkar Chowk, Chandrama Chowk, Poultry Farm Chowk, Old Mumbai-Pune Highway to go to the desired destination.

Roads closed to heavy traffic:

Ganeshkhind Road: Sancheti Chowk to Rajiv Gandhi Bridge (Both Sides)

Baner Road: Radha Chowk to Shivajinagar

Pashan Road: Vehicles going to Sus as well as Shivajinagar

Vehicles coming from Senapati Bapat Road: Law College Road towards Senapati Bapat Road Chowk
