Pune: Bapusaheb Pathare Vows to Represent Christian Community’s Concerns in Maharashtra Assembly

Vadgaonsheri, 14th November 2024: During a recent gathering in Kharadi, Christian community leaders, led by Marcus Pandit, came together to discuss critical issues facing their community. The event featured Bapusaheb Pathare, the official candidate of the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance from NCP-SP for the Vadgaonsheri seat in the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections. He assured attendees of his commitment to raising these concerns in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

Representatives from various local churches, including St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Christ the King Church, Carmel Parish Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, and Holy Family Catholic Church in Lohgaon, attended the event. Several community organisations, such as the Catholic Association of Poona, Vadgaonsheri Minority Congress, Christian Konkani Organisation, Tamil Christian Organisation, SF Marathi Catholic Organisation, and Milagres Foundation, also participated in the discussion.

The Christian community pledged their support to Pathare for the upcoming elections, urging him to address their challenges in the assembly. “The support of the Christian community is crucial, and I promise to advocate for your issues through legislative channels,” Pathare affirmed.

Notable attendees included Jaiprakash Parkhe, Secretary of the Maharashtra State Progressive People’s Congress Party; John Fernandes, President of Milagres Foundation; Joe Rodrigues, President of Konkani Sabha; and other leaders from Christian and Marathi Catholic organisations, alongside prominent community members.
