Pune based DRDO Lab HEMRL Supplies Disinfectent, Hand Sanitizers To PMC, Defence Establishments
Pune, March 31, 2020: High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), a Pune based premier R & D Laboratory under the umbrella of Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence is supporting various defence establishments in Pune and Ahmednagar like ARDE, R&DE (Engrs), GE, EMU, CCE (R&D), CDA, and VRDE by supplying 20000 litre quantity of “Disinfectant” and 1000 litre of ‘Hand Sanitizer’ to fight against Corona Virus (Covid-19).
In addition HEMRL is also supporting other defence institutions like 12 Maha Regiment, AFMC etc The laboratory follows the quality standards as per ISO 9001: 2015 and high quality standards are maintained for preparation of the hand rub sanitizer as per the formulation suggested by World Health Organization (WHO).
As a noble cause and social responsibility, HEMRL is also making available at free of cost about 20,000 lt of “Disinfectant” and 200L of “Hand Sanitizer” per week to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for its use for healthcare personal working in different city areas and to the citizens of Pune. Shekhar Gaikwad, Commissioner of PMC and Chief Nodal Officer Dr Anjali Sabane appreciated the efforts of Scientists of HEMRL. First consignment was handed over on yesterday.
