Pune-based landscape designer, Mahesh Nampurkar wins prestigious MUSE Creative Awards in USA

Pune, May 2, 2020: Pune’s renowned landscape designer and architect, Mahesh Nampurkar has been conferred with the prestigious Gold and Silver Award at the 2020 MUSE Creative Awards competition organized in New York (USA) recently. Nampurkar was conferred with a Gold Award for the most creative design project for Oblique Restaurant at Kothrud and a Silver Award for his excellence in landscape design for 7 Plumeria Drive, a residential project in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Speaking on the achievement, Nampurkar who worked on old materials including metal railings and metal sheds at his Oblique project and with modern and contemporary materials at his 7 Plumeria project to give them a creative designs said, “Appreciation of the Indian talent on international level is important and Indian creativity should get the recognition it deserves. I humbly accept this international recognition on behalf of the entire design fraternity of India and clients, contractors and everyone who have worked for these projects. But most of all the real winners are the carpenters and masons who despite not receiving any formal education gave the projects a unique touch. Their craftsmanship is remarkable and they are the ones who made the difference. I also want to thank team Sumanshilp and my wife Uma Nampurkar, who has been most supportive partner of Sumanshilp for this achievement.” Nampurkar earlier had received a total of 7 international awards in Italy with ‘A Design Award’ for 5 different projects in 2017-18 and 2 awards in 2018-19.

The MUSE Creative and MUSE Design Awards are global competitions, which seek to commemorate the exemplary creative and design professionals of various industries. This year the Awards received 3820 submissions from 50 countries and for assessment a jury panel consisting of top industry experts from 48 multidisciplinary professionals from 19 countries was set up. Winners were selected based at the culmination of the judging process, who had best met criteria.

“These individuals truly embody the spirit of innovation and it is a privilege to award them for their monumental work,” said Kenjo Ong, CEO of both competitions.
