Bavdhan, 4th November 2025: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Additional Commissioner Omprakash Divte has directed civic officials to expedite land acquisition for the widening of the 36-metre Development Plan (DP) road in the Bavdhan–Pashan area. The instruction was issued during a site inspection led by Divte, emphasizing the project’s importance for easing traffic congestion in Pune’s western suburbs.

The DP road stretches from Chandni Chowk to the Defence land boundary and has been designated as 36 metres wide in the city’s development plan. Most of the land required for the project has already come under PMC’s possession through Floor Space Index (FSI) and Transferable Development Rights (TDR) mechanisms. Divte instructed the road department to proceed with full-capacity development of the stretch.

He further pointed out that approximately 40 gunthas of land belonging to the Forest Department are still required for the widening work. Divte directed officials to coordinate closely with the District Collector’s Office and ensure possession of this land by the end of December.

In addition, Divte instructed the road department to carry out drainage and stormwater line works simultaneously with the road construction to avoid delays and future digging.

Deputy Commissioner of the Property Department Prashant Thombre, Deputy Commissioner of Land Acquisition Nikhil More, and officers from the Road and Construction Department and Kothrud–Bavdhan Ward Office were present during the inspection.
