Pune: ‘Bhajan Sandhya’ to be held on the eve of Ashadi Ekadashi
Pune, July 5, 2022: Punekars will get a chance to enjoy some of the famous compositions of Anup Jalota, also known as Bhajan Samrat at a musical program called ‘Mala Umajleli Bhajan Sandhya’, which has been organized on Saturday, July 9, the eve of Ashadi Ekadashi. Renowned vocalist Amol Nisal will perform the bhajans at the program, which will be held at 5:30 pm at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagriha in Kothrud. The entry will be free of cost.
Jalota had created his own special place in the minds of the audience through his soulful bhajans. Whether it is a bhajan of Ram-Krishna or a bhajan based on the compositions of Sant Kabir and Mirabai, Jalota’s bhajans have always been enjoyed by the audience.
Vocalist Amol Nisal who will present these popular bhajans to the audience has taken classical music lessons from Pandit Gangadharbuwa Pimpalkhare and Kolkata-based Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty Kolkata. At the age of 13, he was honoured with the ‘Amol Gandharva’ award by Anup Jalota. He has also performed in various countries outside India.
Nisal will be accompanied by Vishal Gandratwar, Rohit Kulkarni and Nikhil Bidwalkar.
Milind Kulkarni will address the program.
