Pune: ‘Bigg Boss’ Fame Divya Shinde’s Police Custody Extended Till October 2 in Extortion, Attack Case
Pune, 30th September 2026: The police custody of Divya Sunil Shinde, known for her appearance on Bigg Boss, has been extended until October 2 in connection with the alleged attack on former Pune Cantonment Board Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vidyadhar Gaikwad and an alleged ₹5 lakh extortion case.
Shinde was produced before the First Class Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where Magistrate Amit Kulkarni extended her police custody. Police sought further custody stating that several important pieces of evidence, including weapons allegedly used in the attack, mobile phones and other digital evidence, are yet to be recovered.
According to the police, the investigation has so far revealed the alleged involvement of 17 people in the case. The accused allegedly travelled to the location on eight two-wheelers, police told the court.
During the investigation, police seized CCTV footage from Blue Nile Hotel. Police claimed before the court that the footage showed a meeting involving Appa Dhamdhere, Dr. Gaikwad and his son in connection with the alleged demand for ₹5 lakh.
Public Prosecutor Amrapali Kasture told the court that the investigation had revealed the involvement of Appa Dhamdhere, a resident of Pimpri, Nikhil Shinde, Nikhil’s fiancée and Tahir, a resident of Kondhwa, along with 13 other unidentified persons.
Police informed the court that an iron weapon and wooden sticks allegedly used during the attack, along with handwriting and signature samples, are yet to be seized.
The mobile phone allegedly used to record the attack has also not been recovered, police said.
The prosecution argued that further custody of Shinde was necessary to recover the pending evidence and establish the alleged criminal conspiracy behind the incident.
Police also claimed that Shinde was withholding information during the investigation, allegedly citing an “anxiety attack” as a reason.
The court extended her police custody until October 2, while the investigation into the alleged attack, extortion demand and involvement of other suspects continues.
