Pune, 29th August 2023: Owing to the unfavorable atmospheric conditions prevailing in the state, continuous rainfall has been witnessed over the past several days. The likelihood of rain persists throughout this week, although the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted more favorable conditions for rain in the following week.

The velocity of winds originating from the Arabian Sea has diminished, and the Bay of Bengal is currently not conducive to generating rain. Concurrently, a low-pressure system has intensified, stretching from South Karnataka to the Comorin region. Meanwhile, cyclonic winds are sweeping across the East-Central Bay of Bengal.

Anticipated precipitation for the ongoing week remains subdued. However, September is expected to bring some respite from the drier August, with a slight increase in rainfall.

According to predictions from the Meteorological Department, isolated areas across the state may experience light rainfall over the next eight days.
