Pune: Brave Teenage Girl Foils Gang-Rape Attempt in Ghorpadi, Accused Arrested
Ghorpadi, 8th June 2023: A shocking incident has come to light where three individuals attempted to gang-rape a fourteen-year-old minor girl. However, the brave young girl displayed remarkable courage and managed to save herself from harm.
The incident occurred in the Ghorpadi area at approximately 12:30 am on Monday, the 5th of June. The Mundhwa police have filed charges against Sameer Sheikh (residing in Ghorpadi), Karthik, and Mucha for molestation, attempted assault, and violating the POCSO Act. Subsequently, the case has been transferred to the Koregaon Park Police.
According to the police, the minor girl was standing, engrossed in her mobile phone, when the three accused individuals approached her. They forcefully snatched her phone and demanded sexual intercourse, threatening her with further harm if she refused.
In their attempt to carry out the heinous act, the accused physically assaulted her. However, the young girl bravely fought back and managed to escape their clutches. Senior police officers promptly responded to the information and apprehended the accused in the Ghorpadi area.
