Pune: Brutal Murder Unfolds on Aundh-Ravet BRTS Road: Gang Stabs Criminal to Death in Rahatani
Rahatani, 2nd May 2024: A gang chased a notorious criminal on a two-wheeler and stopped him. Upon stopping him, they stabbed him with a knife and a koyta, resulting in his murder. This incident occurred in Rahatani on the Aundh-Ravet BRTS road in the evening on Wednesday (1st May).
The deceased has been identified as Rehan Aarif Shaikh, aged 19, and a resident of Pimple Gurav. Police have registered a case against Rutik Chavan, Prem More, Deepak Kokate, and four other suspects. Tejas Manohar Hanskar, aged 18 and a resident of Juni Sangvi, has filed a complaint at Wakad Police Station.
According to the police report, the complainant Tejas was traveling towards Ravet from Aundh-Ravet BRTS road with his friends, the deceased Rehan Shaikh and Harshad Kate. At that time, the suspects chased them. The suspects, who arrived on 3 two-wheelers, intercepted and surrounded them in Rahatani. Rutik Chavan allegedly attacked Shaikh on the neck with a knife, and Kokate attacked Shaikh on his neck with a koyta. This incident happened during rush hour, which created chaos.
The deceased, Rehan Shaikh, was a history sheeter and had cases registered against him in multiple police stations under the jurisdiction of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. Wakad Police are further investigating this matter.
