Pune: Builder Amit Lunkad and Others Booked for Land Grabbing Near Viman Nagar
Viman Nagar, 8th May 2026: The Vimantal (Airport) Police have registered a case against prominent businessman Amit Lunkad and several others for allegedly trespassing on a private plot, damaging property, and threatening a fellow businessman and his family with death.
The FIR was filed by Ravindra Hiralal Dugad (58), a resident of Bibvewadi, who runs a construction business under the name ‘Dugad Group.’
According to the complaint, the incident occurred at a plot located in Survey No. 30, Ramwadi, Wadgaon Sheri, on the evening of May 7, 2026.
According to the complainant, he had legally purchased a 34.5-guntha portion of land in Wadgaon Sheri from Sumit Rathod in 2023. On May 7, around 5:30 PM, Dugad’s son, Rishabh, informed him that a large group of people had forcibly entered their site.
The accused allegedly arrived with eight to ten tractors, three dumpers, and water tankers. They reportedly broke the compound gate and forcefully drove their vehicles into the plot.
When Ravindra Dugad and his son reached the spot at approximately 8:45 PM to intervene, they encountered Amit Lunkad, Raj Dhakalia, Rupesh Dhakalia, a person named Bidkar, and Lunkad’s manager, along with a mob of 35 to 40 unidentified individuals.
The FIR states that the accused refused to vacate the premises, claiming the land belonged to them. When the complainant resisted, the accused allegedly used abusive language and issued death threats, warning Dugad to leave or face dire consequences. The complainant also mentioned seeing weapons inside the vehicles used by the accused group.
The Airport Police have booked Amit Lunkad and his associates under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The charges include:
Section 333: House-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint.
Section 351(3): Criminal intimidation.
Section 352: Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace.
Section 324: Mischief causing damage.
Section 189(2) & 189(6): Unlawful assembly.
The case is currently being investigated by Sub-Inspector Nitin Gopal Rathod.
No arrests have been made yet.
Lunkad is also facing case by Pune Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) for allegedly cheating depositers.
