Hinjawadi, 3rd October 2024: Yesterday, various media reports surfaced regarding builder Yashwant Nimhan, following the viral circulation of a video showing him beating residents of a housing society in Sus with a baseball bat. New updates have emerged as Hinjawadi Police arrested him, and he was presented in Shivajinagar Court today, where the court granted the accused builder five days of police custody. The other two accused are absconding.

Somnath Nagnath Gund, a 44-year-old resident of Sus, filed a complaint at Hinjawadi Police Station. A case has been registered against Yashwant Shankarrao Nimhan and his two sons, Abhishek and Rushikesh, who are currently absconding.

According to police reports, yesterday, the accused, Yashwant Nimhan, along with his two sons, Rushikesh and Abhishek, and another accomplice, came to Teerth Towers in Sus and began removing grass and plants using a JCB. The work was being carried out very close to the complainant’s society compound, which is adjacent to the site. The complainant and other residents of the society demanded that the work be stopped immediately, but Nimhan refused and attempted to run over one of the members with the JCB. Following this, Nimhan and his two sons physically assaulted the complainant, resulting in an injury to his right hand.

Later, the accused brought a baseball bat and attacked the complainant again, injuring his left hand. Another resident, named Kunichetti, who attempted to mediate, was also beaten by Nimhan’s son. Nimhan himself struck Kunichetti with punches and kicks, injuring his right eye.

After the incident escalated, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate’s (PCPC) Control Room was notified, and officials from Hinjawadi Police Station arrived at the scene. Sources reported that during a search of the vehicle, wooden sticks and bats were discovered in the trunk, leading residents to claim that the builder had premeditated the attack. The complaint was filed late last night.
