Manjari Budruk, 18th March 2026: A late-night overflow from a canal linked to the Mutha River caused flooding in parts of Manjari Budruk on Tuesday, inundating residential areas and leaving residents scrambling to protect their homes and belongings.

The incident occurred near the Mundhwa Jack Well, where water from the canal spilled over into nearby low-lying localities. The Gopal Patti area was among the worst affected, with water entering several houses and lanes within a short span.

Residents said the sudden rise in water levels took them by surprise, triggering panic as families rushed to move valuables and manage the flooding inside their homes. Many reported damage to household items as water spread rapidly through the neighbourhood.

The overflow led to widespread waterlogging, disrupting movement and routine activities across the locality through the night.

Authorities are yet to carry out a detailed assessment of the damage. Officials said a comprehensive evaluation will be conducted to determine the extent of the impact on residents and local infrastructure.
