Pune Cantonment Residents Can Get OPD Appointment Online Through e-Chhawani Portal
Camp, 23 March 2021: To promote ‘Digital India’ and provide safe medical services to the citizens of the cantonment area during the pandemic period, the Ministry of Defence has planned to offer online appointments in the OPD department of the cantonment board’s hospitals through the e-Chhawani portal. Initially, the scheme will be implemented in five cantonment board hospitals across the country, tweeted Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar.
The online appointment scheme will be implemented in five cantonment board hospitals across the country. The scheduled time will be confirmed. The first phase includes Agra, Delhi, Pune, Lucknow and Secunderabad cantonment boards. The appointment will be made through the board’s recently launched e-Chhawani portal.
The Defence Secretary hoped that this facility would save the waiting time of the citizens in the hospital, help in the proper observance of safety rules in case of the limited presence of patients, and would further strengthen the government’s Digital India scheme.
