Pune: Car Falls Into 40-Feet Deep Gorge In Varandha Ghat, No Casualties Reported
Pune 13th August 2023: In a tragic incident reported in Varandha Ghat near Bhor, a car heading towards Raigad fell off the road into a 40-feet deep gorge. The villagers present nearby rushed to the spot and the passenger were rescued. The incident took place on Saturday night.
According to officials, the car driver had lost the way and was finding a route to head towards Raigad. However, due to dark and fog he could not judge the road near Kudali Khurd village and his car fell off the road. Three people including a driver were trapped in the car.
The villagers who rushed to their help rescued them and took them to their residence for night stay as there were no equipment available to pull out the car. However, on Sunday morning a JCB machine was called and the car was removed from the gorge. The locals have blamed absence of signage boards in ghat which according to them leads to accident on this stretch very often.
