Pune: Car Falls Into Stream on Sinhagad Road, No Casualties Reported
Sinhgad Road, 22nd August 2025: Panic spread in Vadgaon Budruk on Thursday morning after a red car was found fallen into a stream near the Prayeja City area along Sinhagad Road. The incident sparked speculation among residents until police traced the vehicle’s owner and clarified the matter.
According to officials, the incident occurred between 4 am and 5 am when the car, driven by 27-year-old Dinesh Kondiram Malusare, suddenly veered off course. Police said the vehicle’s steering had locked while Malusare was driving towards Bavdhan, causing it to plunge into the stream.
The matter came to light only around 9 am when locals noticed the vehicle in the water and alerted the police. The fire brigade was called in to inspect the car and confirm whether anyone was trapped inside.
Rescuers found the vehicle empty, adding to the confusion in the locality.
“Initially, residents were worried about the possibility of passengers being inside the car. However, our checks confirmed that no one was present,” a police official from Sinhagad Road police station said.
Later, police learned that Malusare had left the car at the site and departed in another vehicle as he had to urgently attend a family bereavement.
The discovery put an end to the swirling discussions in the area regarding the mysterious appearance of the car in the stream. Authorities have confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident.
