Pune: Carpenter Falls To Death From Goel Ganga Group Building Project, FIR Registered Against Contractor For Negligence
Kharadi, 9th October 2021: A 22-year-old carpenter died after falling from the third floor of an under-construction building of Goel Ganga Group’s ‘Ganga Serio’ in Kharadi.
The deceased has been identified as Amit Mujumdar, a resident of Mahanagar State Bank labour camp, Kharadi.
An FIR has been registered at Chandan Nagar police station against the owner of DND Constructions Dhiren Pal and site supervisor Ratan Pal. DND Constructions is a sub-contractor of Goel Ganga Group.
According to police, Mujumdar was engaged in carpentry work on the fifth floor of Ganga Serio site in Kharadi. While descending from the building, he lost his balance and fell to the ground floor from the third floor in an open duct and died on August 28. After investigation, the case was registered on Friday.
Police said that the accused had violated safety rules by keeping the duct uncovered.
