Pune: Central Railway Extends Train Cancellations Till July 24 Despite Restoration of Two Lines on Lonavala–Karjat Section

Pune/Mumbai, 17th July 2026: Central Railway has announced a fresh round of train cancellations, diversions and partial service changes even as the South East Down Line and the Middle Line between Karjat and Lonavala have been restored. Train operations have resumed on the two restored lines, while work continues to reopen the third line.

According to Central Railway, the operational changes will remain in force temporarily until the third line is restored.

Key Trains Cancelled

The following major trains have been cancelled on the specified dates:

22157 CSMT–Chennai Express – From July 18 to July 24

22158 Chennai–CSMT Express – From July 18 to July 24

22732 CSMT–Hyderabad Express – From July 18 to July 24

22731 Hyderabad–CSMT Express – From July 18 to July 24

22943 Daund–Indore Express – From July 18 to July 24

22944 Indore–Daund Express – From July 18 to July 24

20496 Hadapsar–Jodhpur Express – From July 18 to July 24

20495 Jodhpur–Hadapsar Express – From July 18 to July 24

17411 CSMT–Kolhapur Mahalaxmi Express – On July 18

11041 Dadar–Sainagar Shirdi Express – On July 18, 21, 22 and 23

11042 Sainagar Shirdi–Dadar Express – On July 19, 22, 23 and 24

11027 Dadar–Satara Express – On July 19, 20 and 24

11028 Satara–Dadar Express – On July 18, 20, 21 and 25

Diversions on Multiple Routes

Several long-distance trains will operate on diverted routes through Daund–Manmad–Igatpuri–Kalyan, Daund–Manmad–Jalgaon–Paldhi–Surat, Daund Chord Line, Kalyan–Manmad–Daund–Solapur, and Surat–Paldhi–Manmad–Daund–Solapur on different dates between July 17 and July 24.

Among the affected services are the Visakhapatnam–LTT Express, Madurai–LTT Express, Karaikal–LTT Express, Chennai–Ektanagar Express, Daund–Ajmer Express, Daund–Gwalior Express, Secunderabad–Rajkot Express, Pune–Santragachi Express, Santragachi–Pune Express, LTT–Visakhapatnam Express, Ektanagar–Chennai Express, Rajkot–Secunderabad Express and several other long-distance trains.

Short Termination and Short Origination

The 11140 Hospete–CSMT Express will be short terminated at Pune from July 17 to July 23, while the 11030 Kolhapur–CSMT Express will be short terminated at Khadki from July 18 to July 24.

The 11029 CSMT–Kolhapur Express will short originate from Pune, and the 11139 CSMT–Hospete Express will short originate from Khadki from July 18 to July 24.

Central Railway stated that train services on the restored South East Down Line and Middle Line have resumed following restoration completed on July 14. Restoration work on the remaining third line between Karjat and Lonavala is continuing, with railway teams engaged in round-the-clock operations to clear debris and restore full connectivity. Passengers have been advised to check the latest train running status through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or the railway helpline before travelling.
