Pune city: 1390 new COVID cases, 24 deaths reported today
Pune, Aug 9, 2020: In the last 24 hours, a total of 1879 people were discharged from hospitals after recovery from Coronavirus disease (COVID19) in Pune city today. Also, 1390 new patients were detected while 24 people died today. Today swab samples of 6008 people were collected for COVID tests.
According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 65,966 out of which 48,614 have been cured while 1540 have died. There are still 15,812 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 726 critical patients out of which 448 are on ventilator support.
Across Maharashtra, 13,348 people got discharged from hospitals while 12,248 new cases and 390 deaths were reported today. The total number of COVID cases has reached 5,15,332 out of which 3,51,710 people have recovered and 17,757 have died.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 21,53,010 across the country. Out of this, 14,80,884 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 43,379 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 6,28,747 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
