Pune City Congress Committee Protests Against LPG Price Hike
Pune, 8th April 2025: In response to a ₹50 hike in LPG cylinder prices amid rising inflation, the Pune City Congress Committee staged a protest against the central government today. The demonstration took place at Balgandharva Chowk, where party workers raised slogans condemning the government’s policies.
Speaking at the protest, Pune City District Congress Committee President Arvind Shinde said, “The Modi government is distracting the public while allowing inflation to spiral out of control. Under the guise of economic policy, the government is exploiting ordinary citizens.”
He added that the recent ₹50 hike in LPG cylinder prices has placed an additional burden on common people. “The public is being misled, and no concrete measures are being taken to curb inflation,” Shinde said.
The Congress leaders said the protest was aimed at voicing public anger over the government’s failure to control fuel and gas prices, and to oppose the repeated hikes in LPG, petrol, and diesel rates.
