Pune City Police Deploy 9,000 Officers And Personnel For Secure Ganesh Visarjan; Extensive CCTV Monitoring in Place

Pune, 27th September 2023: In a bid to ensure a safe and harmonious Ganesh Visarjan procession, the Pune City Police will deploy around 9,000 officers and personnel on Thursday, September 28. A comprehensive security plan has been rolled out, including extensive CCTV monitoring and preventive action against suspects.

Under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr and Joint Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, the police force has taken preventive measures against approximately 13,000 suspects through combing operations in recent days.

Plainclothes Police and Crime Branch Involvement

To curb mobile phone theft, gold chain theft, and molestation, plainclothes police from the crime branch have been deployed. Assistant Commissioners Sunil Tambe and Satish Govekar of the Crime Branch are overseeing the units and squads monitoring criminals and thieves.

CCTV and Traffic Control

A total of 205 CCTVs have been installed along major procession routes. The CCTV control room at the Police Commissionerate and Vishram Bagh Police Station will closely monitor the movement of suspects. The traffic branch will also use its CCTV control room to monitor procession routes, deploying 13 Sub-Inspectors, 33 Assistant Inspectors, 775 police personnel, and 300 wardens and volunteers.

With these extensive arrangements, the Pune City Police aim to ensure that the Ganesh Visarjan procession proceeds without any untoward incidents.
