Pune City to Continue Experiencing Cold Weather, Temperature Drop Over the Week
Pune, January 3, 2021: The cold climate returned to the city as Pune experienced a temperature fall today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded a 10.7-degree Celsius minimum temperature in the city on Wednesday (3rd February) in the morning.
According to the IMD data, a low-pressure belt is active in the coastal area (from north Kerala to south Gujarat) has caused a hurdle for the cold wind flowing from the northern region. This resulted in cold conditions, and the temperature dropped in the state. The low-pressure belt was earlier present in the Madhya Maharashtra region.
The change in the low-pressure belt position has created a path for cold winds to flow from the region. Despite an active low-pressure belt in a coastal area, there is a temperature drop-in various parts of the state, especially in the Madhya Maharashtra region.
Likewise, Pune is also experiencing a drop in temperature. Today the city recorded a 10.7 degree Celsius. A minimum temperature of 13.4 degrees Celsius was recorded earlier. The IMD has predicted dry weather for the entire week, and there will be ups and downs in the temperature.
