Pune: Clash Erupts Between Student Groups Wielding Sticks, Choppers At DY Patil College Lohegaon

Lohegaon, 9th May 2024: Tensions escalated at Ajeenkya DY Patil College campus in Lohegaon, Pune, as two student factions engaged in a violent clash, wielding sticks, and choppers and resulting in injuries. The altercation saw members of both groups involved in the confrontation.
According to eyewitnesses, students from opposing groups resorted to physical violence.
In the aftermath of the clash, both student groups lodged complaints against each other at the Dighi Police Station (Pimpri Chinchwad police).

Speaking to Punekar News, Senior Police Inspector Vijay Dhumal, in-charge of Dighi police station, said, “An FIR is being registered against four people after the video went viral. Three were students from last year and one from outside. A chopper or stick can be seen in his hand. The first incident took place two days ago and then yesterday there was again a fight on the college campus. There are no minor students involved as of now.”
