Pune, 1st October 2022: Today (October 1), all Torrent CNG Stations are shut in Pune over payment of commission by oil marketing companies (OMCs).

According to the Working Committee, Petrol Dealers Association Pune, despite the District Supply Officers letter dated 28th September 2022, and advisory issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, to Torrent Gas and the OMC’s, they have been holding up the incremental commissions due to dealers since last November.

The Working Committee said, “There has been no effort taken nor a meeting has been called irrespective of the sensitivity of the issue. We as an association are working towards fair trade practices and fighting for the rights of our dealers.”

They further added, “Even though the governing body of the OMC’s and CGD’s, MOPNG has issued a circular and order to increase the trade margins and companies like MNGL and IGL increasing them as per the order, neither Torrent Gas nor the OMC’s are willing to work for delivering the fair trade margin which is the right of the dealer while taking efforts to sell their product.”

The Committee said that this due to their reluctance to provide the right of the dealers, they are compelled to take this step of ‘No Sale of Torrent Gas’ on OMC Pumps today (October 1) from 6 am to 6 pm.
