Pune, 19th November 2025: The cold wave continued to grip Pune as the city recorded its second consecutive single-digit minimum temperature on November 19, settling at 9.5°C. While the chill remains widespread across the district, weather experts say minimum temperatures are expected to rise from November 18 onward.

On Tuesday, November 18, the IMD’s Shivajinagar observatory registered a sharp dip as the minimum temperature dropped to 9.4°C — the season’s first single-digit reading and the lowest so far this winter. The temperature remained 5.6°C below normal and was even lower than Mahabaleshwar, which recorded 10°C. Wednesday’s reading stayed in the single-digit range at 9.5°C.

The sudden drop has left residents grappling with icy mornings, foggy conditions, and a noticeable wind chill, giving Pune an early taste of winter.

According to the forecast, no further decline in minimum temperatures is expected from November 18 onward.
Anupam Kashyapi, former head of IMD Pune’s weather and forecasting division, said, “There is unlikely to be any further fall in minimum or night temperatures in Maharashtra from November 18 onward.”
