Pune: College Girl Robbed of Gold Chain at Hanuman Tekdi, Third Robbery In Last Two Months

Pune, 7th January 2025: A college student was robbed of her gold chain worth ₹1 lakh by thieves who threatened her with a crowbar in the Hanuman Tekdi area near Senapati Bapat Road. This marks the third robbery in the area in the last two months, sparking concerns among locals and frequent walkers.
According to the complaint filed at Deccan Police Station, the incident occurred on Saturday, January 4, around 2 pm. The victim, accompanied by her friend, was walking in the Hanuman Tekdi area when the robbers approached them. The culprits reportedly threatened and abused the duo before assaulting the girl and snatching her gold chain. The frightened victims returned home and filed a police complaint two days later, on January 6.
Senior Police Inspector Girisha Nimbalkar inspected the scene of the crime, and Police Sub-Inspector Sawant is leading the investigation.
This robbery is the third such incident reported in the area recently. Two months ago, college students walking on a hill near Baner-Pashan Road were also robbed, prompting Chaturshringi Police to arrest the culprits.
However, the recurrence of such crimes in Pune’s hill areas—Hanuman Tekdi, Vetal Tekdi, the Pashan-Baner Road hill, and Taljai Tekdi—has left citizens alarmed.
