Pune: Congress MP Rajeev Satav Dies After Recovering From COVID19

Pune, 16th May 2021: Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Satav passed away today at Jehangir Hospital. He was 46 years old.

“Satav was admitted to Jehangir Hospital on 23rd Apr 2021 with severe COVID19 pneumonia with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Satav became RT-PCR swab negative on 9th May. However, after a prolonged illness he succumbed to secondary pneumonia with multi-organ dysfunction syndrome on 16 May 2021 at 4.58 am”, said Dr (Col) Satyajit Singh Gill, Medical Director, Jehangir Hospital, Pune.

The last rites will be performed at his native place Kalamnuri in the Hingoli district on May 17 at 10 am.

Satav had studied at Fergusson College, Pune. He had represented Hingoli in the 16th Lok Sabha. Currently, he was a Rajya Sabha MP and incharge of Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu.

After his demise, condolences poured in from various quarters.
