Pune: Construction Of 2,000 Segment Of Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro Completed
Pune, 25th April 2023: Work on the Pune Metro Line 3 project, which will connect the Information Technology Center (IT Hub) of Hinjawadi to the central hub of Shivajinagar, has quickened. An important milestone in the work of this metro was completed on Monday (24th April) morning. Construction of the 2,000 segments for the Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar metro line has been completed today.
On 23rd July 2022, the first segment of Pune Metro Line 3 was constructed at Hinjawadi. After that, in nine months, as many as 2,000 segments have been set up by the developers.
The work of the Pune Metro Line 3 on the Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar route has been undertaken by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis by the Tata Group. A special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) company, Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited, has been established for its implementation.
Alok Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer of Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited, informed that the construction of the metro on the Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar route will provide an easy, fast, and cheap public transport option. The work of this project is going on at full capacity to complete the work within the scheduled time.
“We have been able to achieve the milestone of 2,000 segments in just nine months and 50 percent of the total pole construction within a year of commencement of work,” he added further.
In line with this work, senior officials of Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited met Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. In this meeting, various issues related to Pune Metro Route 3 were discussed. Also, the progress of this work was reviewed.
In this meeting, an invitation was given on behalf of Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited that the Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar metro route is one of the important routes and Deputy CM Fadnavis should come to Pune to visit this route and see the progress.
