Pune Construction Worker Dies After Being Crushed by JCB Machine in Dhankawadi
Sahakar Nagar, 8th November 2024: A tragic accident occurred in Pune’s Dhankawadi area, where a construction worker was found dead after being crushed by a JCB machine while sleeping near the site. A case has been registered against the driver at the Sahakar Nagar Police Station. The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Rahul Jadhav. Police Constable Hemant Raut reported the incident.
The JCB driver, Mukesh Yadav, 27, a resident of Dhankawadi, now faces charges of culpable homicide.
According to police reports, construction work had been ongoing in a local housing society in Dhankawadi for the past month, and Rahul Jadhav was employed at the site. Yesterday, he was sleeping near the construction area, positioned under the JCB machine. The driver reportedly did not see him when he began lifting the machine’s iron bucket. The bucket fell on Jadhav’s stomach, causing severe injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Police investigations revealed that the accident resulted from the driver’s negligence, leading to the registration of the case against him.
